Cats are interesting to me. Unlike dogs, who have masters, cats have servants. They seem to be more like queens. They sit on their thrones, usually the back of the couch, and do what they want(sleep). If they want you to do something, they will tell you through annoying yowls, a bite on the hand, or a scratch. They also seem to strut around and are extremely bossy, just like classic slave owners.
Cats also have claws that really are annoying. Sure they make for good tree climbing tools, but one swat to an unknowing walker past-er, and you have a calf welt for days. And let's say you want to have a bonding moments with your cat, and they aren't interested. Well, then you will have bite marks on your hands or a raised and painful scratch mark. Who wants that?
Cats don't thrive on human interaction. They really aren't always cuddly and I have know some cats who will hide for days, only coming out to cry for food. They really don't need us. Case in point, alley cats.
Cats also smell bad. Okay, so maybe not like wet dogs, but their litter box odor is atrocious. Seriously, and who has to clean it out so they don't become offended. Yep, that's right, their servant.
So, if you enjoy being surrounded by divas like Snooky, by all means get yourself a cat. Otherwise, save yourself the embarrassment of being a servant and live your life cat free.
